WHY LIFE ON MARS?

Life on Mars is different. It’s full of surprises. Our ‘leather’ is made from cactus, apple, and other sustainable materials, our lining is made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic, and we plant trees when you buy our products. Our mission is to create a better-looking planet with beautifully stylish, responsibly made bags.

WHY CACTUS?

Cactus is a CO2 sink with an exceptional sequestering capacity. From the 14acre farm, the Desserto team are able to absorb 8,100 tons of CO2/year whilst generating only 15.30 tons of CO2 annually. Due to its hardy nature, cactus requires zero irrigation, so there is no water wastage on the farm. It is free from animal cruelty.

Desserto has the following accreditation and compliances: OEKO-TEX, OKO-GRANITE BCS, USDA ORGANIC, DAKKS, GLOBAL RECYCLED STANDARD, PETA APPROVED, UKAS.

WHY APPLE?

We are currently sampling with apple ‘leather’ that is made from 50% apple skin and cores, 50% PU coating. It has less environmental impact than animal leather and PVC bags, and of course, it is cruelty free.

WILL YOU USE OTHER MATERIALS?

Yes, we are constantly exploring the use of bio-based materials such as sileather, pineapple, cork, tomato, mushroom and grape based ‘leathers’.

ARE YOUR PRODUCTS 100% VEGAN?

Yes, we love animals. All of our handbags and accessories are Peta-Approved Vegan, which means our products are 100% vegan.

HOW LONG WILL MY BAG LAST?

Our bags are made to last. Cactus ‘leather’ has been rigorously tested to last for up to 10 years. Like any product, wear and tear will occur. Please treat your LOM bag with love and respect, store it in a safe place (like the beautiful box it arrived in) and it will be with you a long time.

Please note: due to Covid-19, large volumes of goods being shipped and reduced flights, shipping is taking longer than usual. This is something that is out of our control, however we will despatch your bag within 24hours of receiving your order and send you a tracking number.

DOMESTIC SHIPPING

We’ll despatch your order within 24hours via Sendle and send you a tracking number. Please allow up to 5-10 working days to receive your order.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

We’ll despatch your order within 24 hours via Sendle and send you a tracking number. Please allow up to 3 weeks to receive your order.

Please note!: We choose to deliver using Sendle Australia's first 100% carbon neutral delivery service and a certified B Corporation.

As we use a courier, we cannot accept PO Boxes. Packages will be left in a secure location if you are not home. If you are not home when the package is due to arrive, please check your junk-mail to ensure the Tracking Information provides you with re-delivery or local pick-up options.

All international deliveries are shipped on a DDU (Delivery Duty Unpaid) basis. As the recipient, you are liable for all import duties, customs and local sales taxes levied by the country you are shipping to; payment of these is necessary to release your order from customs on arrival.

RETURNS & REFUNDS

We do not refund for change of mind. If for some reason you are unhappy with your LOM bag, we can offer you a refund (less shipping cost) under the following circumstances:

  • You initiate the return within 7 days of receiving your bag.
  • You contact us within 7 days of receiving your bag.
  • Your bag is brand new as it was delivered - unused, swing tags attached, thank you card in place, in its original packaging.
  • Returns of items with tags removed will not be refunded.
  • It was not purchased on sale or using a discount of any kind.
  • Your refund will be issued within 3 days of receiving your bag.

DAMAGED, FAULTY, OR INCORRECT ORDER

Quality control is an absolute priority at LOM, we use an extremely thorough internal and external QC service who meticulously check every item before carefully packaging it and sending it to you. If for some reason it is damaged, defective, or incorrect, we are truly sorry, please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order with a photo and your order number and we will respond promptly with a solution.
